Q1 - What is Course Offering System?

Course Offering System is an application to automate all course offering related processes.Data from this system serves as an input for timetable committee to prepare time table in PeopleSoft.

Q2 - What can I do using Course Offering System?

If you are an HOD or UG Advisor then Course offering system allows you to offer courses with required L/T/P components, their credits, faculties, number of batches, lecture per week, class duration and assessment schemes.

Q3 - How can I access Course Offering System?

There are two ways to access Course Offering System:

Through SNU Links:

Step 1: Navigate to url https://snulinks.snu.edu.in/

Step 2: After login, Click on ‘COS – Course Offering System’ to open the application

Directly through URL

User can directly open the application through URL given below:

https://cos.webapps.snu.edu.in/public/application/login/login

 

Q4 - Which browser and browser version should I use to access Course Offering System?

Following browsers are recommended to use COS:

  1. Chrome browser with version 60.0.3112 or upper than this.
  2. Mozilla firefox browser with version 55.0.2 or upper than this.

 

Q5 - Why am I getting 'Invalid User' while login into Course Offering System?

“Invalid User” notification comes in case user enters wrong SNU Net Id or Password.

Q6 - Why am I getting 'Unauthorized User' while login into Course Offering System?

This notification comes when user tries to login the application for which he/she is not authorized.

Q7 - Why am I getting 'You are not registered to offer course' while login into Course Offering System?

‘Add Course Offering’ functionality is only available for Super Admin, HOD and UG Advisor. User other than these not allowed to offer course. You might not be having any role among these roles, that’s why you are getting this message.

Q8 - Why am I getting 'Course Offering window for the semester is either not opened or already closed. Please contact Dean's office'?

Course offering is allowed during for a certain date range.  If current date does not fall in this date range, user will get this notification. Please contact Dean's office for any assistance on this.

Q9 - How can I view course credits of a particular course?

Search the desired course in "COURSE CATALOG" tab to view course credits. By default  all the courses with their respective course credits will be listed in course catalog.

Q10 - How can I view all cross listed course ?

User can find all cross listed courses udnder  "CROSS LISTED COURSES" tab.

Q11 - How can I learn more about Course Offering System?

You can learn more about Course Offering System through 'User Guide' provided in the application.

Q12 - How can I get assistance if I need it?

However user guide is available to help about the working of this application, yet you can raise a ticket with IT Helpdesk for application assistance. Applications support team will contact you and assist.
